01. Jiinubi Managed App Engine

Jiinubi Managed App Engine

Transforming your website into a mobile application starts with a solid foundation. At Jiinubi, we integrate our App Engine with your hosting service to ensure a seamless transition from a standard website to a Progressive Web App.

Step 1: Establishing Your Website

Before you can activate the App Engine, you must have an active web presence. Jiinubi recommends starting with one of our high-performance hosting plans.

  • Purchase Hosting: Select a plan that fits your business needs.
  • Add-on Recommendation: During checkout, Jiinubi will suggest the Managed App Engine as a powerful cross-sell to upgrade your hosting experience.
  • Domain Setup: Ensure your domain is pointed to your Jiinubi hosting account and secured with SSL.

Step 2: Initial App Configuration

Once your hosting and App Engine service are paid and active, the setup begins immediately. You will be prompted to provide the basics "Info" of your app:

  • App Name: The name that will appear under the icon on a user's home screen.
  • Theme Color: The hex code that colors the status bar and browser chrome.
  • Target URL: The specific page on your domain where the app should start.
Notice:
A Welcome Email for the Managed App Engine is sent as soon as payment is confirmed. This email contains the link to submit your high-resolution App Icons.

Step 3: Understanding "Active" vs. "Ready" Status

There is a difference between your service being billed and your app being functional. You can track this in your Client Area:

Status Meaning
Active The billing account is in good standing and the hosting is live.
Pending Ready The engine is waiting for icon uploads or final manifest configuration.
Ready The App is fully configured and ready for user installation.
Process Note:
While your service shows "Active," the "Ready Status" remains pending until our engineers or the automated script confirms your icons are correctly formatted and the manifest is live.

Step 4: Launching to Your Users

Once the status reaches Ready, Jiinubi will send a "Ready to Launch" email. This is your green light to:

  1. Share the installation link with your customers.
  2. Display the "Install App" banners on your website.
  3. Allow users to start using your mobile experience.

The Kill Switch Policy

To maintain the security and integrity of our engine, the App functionality is tied directly to your account standing.

Warning:
If your account is Suspended or Cancelled due to non-payment or policy violations, the App Engine will stop serving your manifest. Users who have already installed the app will see a "Service Inactive" message when attempting to open it.

Summary

Summary:
The journey from website to app involves purchasing hosting, adding the Managed App Engine, and completing your brand configuration. Once you move from "Active" to "Ready," your app is officially live for the world.
