Getting Started with Your Jiinubi VPS

Your Jiinubi VPS runs on premium Google Cloud infrastructure, giving you high performance and a dedicated management dashboard within your Client Area.

1. Locating Your VPS Management Dashboard

Unlike Shared Hosting, which uses cPanel, a VPS is managed through a specialized Power Panel in your Jiinubi account.

  1. Log in to your Jiinubi Client Area.
  2. Navigate to Services > My Services.
  3. Click on your VPS Product (e.g., VPS - Business Plan).
  4. Scroll down to the VPS Management section. Here you will see your server's status (Running/Offline) and its Dedicated IP Address.

2. Essential Control Buttons

In the management dashboard, you will find these critical controls:

  • Start / Boot: Power on your server.
  • Stop / Shutdown: Safely turn off the server.
  • Reboot: Restart the operating system (useful if the server feels "stuck").
  • Reinstall: Completely wipe the server and start over with a fresh OS (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, or Debian). Warning: This deletes all data.
  • HTML5 Console: If you accidentally block yourself out with a firewall, this "emergency" terminal allows direct browser access.

3. Connecting via SSH (Secure Shell)

To manage your server and install software, connect using a terminal:

For Windows Users (Using PuTTY)

  1. Download PuTTY.
  2. Open PuTTY and enter your VPS IP Address in the "Host Name" field.
  3. Ensure the port is set to 22 and click Open.
  4. When prompted with login as:, type root.
  5. Enter your root password (from your Welcome Email). Note: The password will be invisible as you type.

For Mac/Linux Users (Using Terminal)

  1. Open your Terminal app.
  2. Type: ssh root@your_vps_ip
  3. Type yes to accept the security key.
  4. Enter your password when prompted.

4. Your First Security Steps (Recommended)

Once logged in for the first time, run these commands to secure your VPS:

  • Update your software:
    Ubuntu/Debian: apt update && apt upgrade -y
    CentOS/AlmaLinux: dnf update -y
  • Change your root password: Type passwd and follow prompts.
  • Setup a firewall (UFW):
ufw allow 22 (keeps SSH open!)
    ufw enable

5. Installing a Control Panel

If you prefer a visual interface instead of the command line, install a control panel:

  • CyberPanel: Great for OpenLiteSpeed speed.
  • HestiaCP: Lightweight, free, and easy to use.
  • cPanel/WHM: Professional standard (requires a license).

Important: Support Levels

A VPS is a Self-Managed service. Jiinubi ensures the hardware and network run 24/7, but you are responsible for software, security, and updates inside the server.

Pro Tip: Regularly update your server and monitor login attempts to keep your VPS secure. Using a control panel can simplify management without compromising safety.
