How to Point Your Domain to Jiinubi Nameservers

Think of your domain as a phone number and your hosting as the phone itself. Nameservers are the connection that tells the internet: “When someone types this domain, show the website hosted on Jiinubi.”

If you registered your domain with another company (such as GoDaddy or Namecheap) but want to use Jiinubi Hosting, you must update your nameservers.

1. Identify the Jiinubi Nameservers

For most Jiinubi Cloud Hosting plans, use the following global nameservers:

  • Primary Nameserver: ns1.jiinubi.com
  • Secondary Nameserver: ns2.jiinubi.com
  • Tertiary Nameserver: ns3.jiinubi.com (Optional)
Tip
You can always find your exact nameservers in your Welcome Email or by going to Services → My Services in your Jiinubi Client Area and clicking your hosting plan.

2. Update Nameservers (If Your Domain Is at Jiinubi)

If your domain was registered through Jiinubi, updating nameservers is quick and easy:

  1. Log in to your Jiinubi Client Area.
  2. Go to Domains → My Domains.
  3. Click the Manage (wrench icon) next to your domain.
  4. From the left sidebar, click Nameservers.
  5. Select Use custom nameservers.
  6. Enter the Jiinubi nameservers listed above.
  7. Click Change Nameservers.

3. Update Nameservers (If Your Domain Is Elsewhere)

If your domain is registered with another provider, you’ll need to update the settings from their dashboard:

  1. Log in to your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Truehost).
  2. Locate DNS Management or Nameserver Settings.
  3. Select Custom Nameservers.
  4. Remove existing nameservers.
  5. Add the following:
    • ns1.jiinubi.com
    • ns2.jiinubi.com
  6. Save or update your changes.

4. Understanding DNS Propagation (Waiting Period)

Nameserver changes are not instant. The global internet needs time to update its records.

  • Typical Time: 2–4 hours
  • Maximum Time: Up to 24–48 hours in rare cases
  • Can it be sped up? No. DNS propagation is controlled by ISPs worldwide.

To check progress, visit DNSChecker.org, select NS, and confirm that ns1.jiinubi.com appears globally.

Common Troubleshooting

  • Website still shows the old host?
Your browser may be caching the old site. Clear your cache or try opening the site in Incognito / Private Mode.
  • Email stopped working?
When nameservers change, email also moves to Jiinubi. Ensure your email accounts are created in cPanel.
  • Domain Lock Error?
Some registrars lock domains by default. Ensure your domain status is Active / Unlocked.
