How to Register a New Domain Name
Once you’ve found the perfect domain using the Jiinubi Search Tool, follow the steps below to secure it and link it to your brand.
Step 1: Add to Cart & Configure
After finding an available domain, click Add to Cart. Before payment, you’ll see the Domain Configuration screen, where you can choose optional but powerful add-ons:
- DNS Management (Highly Recommended): Manage DNS records (A, MX, CNAME) directly from your dashboard.
- ID Protection (Recommended): Keeps your name, email, and phone number hidden from the public WHOIS database to reduce spam and unwanted contact.
- Email Forwarding: Forward emails from your new domain to an existing inbox (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) if you don’t have hosting yet.
Step 2: Linking Hosting (Optional but Recommended)
A domain is just the address — hosting is the house.
If you don’t have a hosting plan yet, you’ll see a link that says: “No Hosting! Click to Add.”
Clicking this allows you to bundle your domain with a Shared, WordPress, or VPS Hosting plan so everything is set up together automatically.
Bundling hosting during checkout saves time and avoids manual setup later.
Step 3: Review and Checkout
- Double-check spelling: Domains cannot be edited or undone once registered.
- Promotional Code: If you have a Jiinubi discount code, enter it in the Apply Promo Code box.
Click Checkout to proceed to the secure billing area.
Step 4: Creating Your Account
If you’re a new customer, you’ll be asked to provide:
- Personal Information: Use a valid email address that you check frequently.
- Domain Registrant Information: By default, your account details are used. If registering for a client, you can enter their information instead.
Step 5: Payment (M-Pesa, Card, or Bank)
Select your preferred payment method:
- M-Pesa: Receive an STK Push on your phone or follow the Paybill instructions shown.
- Credit/Debit Card: Enter your card details through our secure payment gateway.
Once payment is successful, our system immediately submits the registration request to the global domain registry.
Step 6: Success & Verification
You’ll receive three confirmation emails:
- Order Confirmation – Confirms your purchase
- Invoice Receipt – Proof of payment
- Domain Registration Confirmation – Confirms ownership
Look for an email titled “IMMEDIATE VERIFICATION required for [yourdomain]”. You must click the link inside within 15 days, or the domain will be suspended by the global registry (ICANN).
What’s Next?
Now that your domain is registered, you can:
- Set up professional email accounts
- Install WordPress via cPanel
- Update nameservers if using an external hosting provider
Your domain is secured — now it’s time to build.
