Transferring Services to a Different Jiinubi Account

If you have sold your website, or if you are a developer handing over a completed project to a client, you may need to move a service from your Jiinubi account to another. This internal transfer moves the billing responsibility and control of the service to the new owner.

The Transfer Process

For security reasons, internal transfers are handled manually by our billing team to ensure both parties consent to the move.

  1. Prepare the Recipient:
The person receiving the service must have an active Jiinubi account. If they don't, ask them to register first.
  2. Submit a Request:
As the current owner, open a support ticket from your registered email address.
  3. Provide Details:
Include the following in your ticket:
    • The Service ID or Domain Name you wish to transfer.
    • The email address of the new owner's Jiinubi account.
  4. Confirmation:
Our team will contact the new owner to confirm they accept the transfer. Once confirmed, the service and future invoices will appear in their dashboard.

What is Transferred?

  • The Product/Service: The hosting plan, VPS, or domain registration.
  • Control: Access to cPanel, nameserver management, and renewal settings.
  • Future Billing: All future invoices will be generated in the new owner's name.

What is NOT Transferred?

  • Past Invoices: Any unpaid invoices or billing history remains with the original account.
  • Payment Information: Your credit card or M-Pesa details are never shared or moved.
  • Account Credit: Any balance in your "Add Funds" wallet stays in your account and does not move with the service.

Important Note:
A service transfer does not automatically move your website files or databases—it only moves the "account container." If you are moving a website to a completely different server, please refer to our Website Migration Guide.
