How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Passwords can sometimes be stolen through phishing or data breaches. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security by requiring a time-sensitive code from your phone in addition to your password whenever you log in.

Why You Should Use 2FA

  • Prevent Unauthorized Access: Even if someone discovers your password, they cannot access your account without the physical device generating the 2FA code.
  • Protection Against Phishing: Stops attackers from using credentials they may have tricked you into providing on fake websites.

How to Set Up 2FA in the Client Area

  1. Log in to the Client Area:
    Go to jiinubi.com/clientarea.
  2. Go to Security Settings:
Click on Hello, [Name]! in the top-right corner and select Security Settings.
  3. Click to Enable:
Locate the Two-Factor Authentication section and click the button labeled Click here to Enable.
  4. Choose Your Method:
Select Time Based Tokens (the most common and secure method) and click Get Started.
  5. Scan the QR Code:
Open an authenticator app on your smartphone (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy).
Use the "+" icon or "Add Account" option to scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
  6. Verify the Code:
Enter the 6-digit code from your app into the text box on Jiinubi and click Submit.
  7. Save Your Backup Code:
Copy the unique Backup Code provided and store it in a secure location. This code is essential if your phone is lost or unavailable.

What to Do if You Lose Your Device

  • Use the Backup Code provided during setup on the login screen.
  • If the backup code is also lost, contact Jiinubi Support. For security, strict identity verification (e.g., National ID or a phone call to the registered number) is required before 2FA can be disabled manually.

Tip:
Always store your backup code in a secure place separate from your phone. This ensures you can regain access even if your device is lost or stolen.
