When Should You Change Nameservers?

  • Moving to Jiinubi: Your domain was bought elsewhere but you want to use Jiinubi hosting.
  • Moving Away: Your domain is at Jiinubi but you want to host your site on another platform (Wix, Squarespace, or a private VPS).
  • Using a CDN: Setting up Cloudflare or a similar service for your website.

Note: Always check your "New Account Information" email, as some specialized hosting plans or reseller accounts may use different nameservers.

Important Notes on Propagation

  • The 24–48 Hour Rule: Nameserver changes involve the root registry. Propagation can take 2 to 48 hours worldwide.
  • Email Disruption: Changing nameservers may stop email service unless MX records are re-added at the new hosting provider.
  • Don't Panic: During propagation, some visitors may see the old site while others see the new one. This resolves automatically once global caches update.
???? Pro Tip: Plan propagation during low-traffic hours if possible and keep a backup of your current DNS records before making changes.
