How to Upload Large Files via FTP (FileZilla Guide)
Step 1: Download and Install FileZilla
Visit the official FileZilla website and download the FileZilla Client (not the Server). Follow the standard installation prompts for your operating system.
Step 2: Connect to Your Jiinubi Server
You can connect via Quickconnect (one-time use) or Site Manager (save details for future use).
- Using Quickconnect: At the top of the FileZilla window, enter the following:
- Host: ftp.yourdomain.com (or your server's IP address found in your Welcome Email)
- Username: Your cPanel username
- Password: Your cPanel password
- Port: 21 (or leave blank)
Click Quickconnect.
Step 3: Navigating the Interface
The FileZilla screen has two main sections:
- Left Side (Local Site): Files on your computer.
- Right Side (Remote Site): Files on your Jiinubi server. Double-click public_html to enter your website's main directory.
Step 4: Uploading and Monitoring
- On the left side, locate the large file or folder you want to upload.
- Right-click and select Upload, or drag it from left to right pane.
- Monitor the Bottom Panel:
- Queued Files: Waiting to be sent
- Failed Transfers: If a file fails, right-click → "Reset and requeue all"
- Successful Transfers: Log of completed uploads
???? Pro Tips for Large Transfers:
- Zip Before Uploading: Uploading a single large .zip file is faster than thousands of small files. Extract in cPanel File Manager afterward.
- Resume Transfers: If disconnected, reconnect and choose "Resume" to continue where it left off.
- Increase Simultaneous Transfers: Go to Edit → Settings → Transfers → "Maximum simultaneous transfers" → set to 10 to speed up multiple uploads.
